I'm Meriel Carney, an Industrial Design 2024 graduate from Virginia Tech. I minored in Design, Technology, and Creative Expression. I am skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Lightroom. I use 3D softwares such as: Rhino, Blender, and SolidWorks. I have experience running social media programs such as Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) using Hootsuite.
I am passionate about graphic design, set design, soft goods, and fashion design.
I started a class project on redesigning the bus stop sings for Blacksburg Transit, and it developed into an independent study and internship with BT to redesign their signs and work on other projects. I have since been hired for marketing, social media, and customer support.
Outside of Industrial Design, I play volleyball and enjoy reading.
