This project was to design and make a bag for yourself in a week.
Market Research
From research and personal use, I found purses and crossbody bags tend to have one big pocket where users have little organization and end up with messy bags.
Creating the bag
I wanted a bag with as much storage and organization as possible.
Sketching ideas. I selected the middle one.
The initial prototype.
This bag has a main pocket, but also a large front zipper pocket, back pocket to keep valuables close to the user's body, and a pocket specific for the phone. Optimizing the number of pockets gives the users options for organization.
Materials
Grey faux leather material was chosen for the outside and this green leaf fabric for the lining.
